Glasshouse 300BSE Amp - Listening Test

Glasshouse 300BSEi with JJ Tesla 300Bs
This amplifier has all the traits associated with a single ended design, plus plenty more up its sleeve. Firstly, there's the excellent transparency that gleans every last ounce of detail from any recording. There were plenty of times durng listening to this amp that I had the 'haven't-heard-that-before' experience. With classical music you'll revel in the realism of the instruments and the superb three-dimensionality that this design can deliver. The midrange and treble are free from constraint and superbly 'airy', adding yet more to the overall realism of this amplifier's sound.

In addition to the traditionally accepted transparency and deep sound stage, this particular single ended delivers a punch and depth of sound not always associated with the genre. Rock and dance music, for example, have plenty of weight and drive. Bass is solid and taut and rhythms are precise and fast. Combine these traits with the clarity and physical depth of this amp's sound and you have a true high-end design that's simply a gobsmacking bargain.

With the very high quality KR valves, the 300BSEi gives a very detailed and involving sound that excels with vocals and acoustic instruments. There's also added bass weight and drive and the overall smoothness is increased to give a warm yet still tight and fast sound.

These gems are a treat for the discerning music lovers out there. Not only do they look the biz but they have a beautifully detailed and delicate transparency that is the domain of real high end sound. Using these valves will result in a highly realistic and sophisticated performance that is especially profound with classical and jazz recordings but still also adds increased detail to any music. Headbangers leave well alone - this is the sonic domain of us sophisticates!
