HOW TO REMOVE POLYURETHANE COATING as described by Audio Note

We would use a solder bath/solder pot set between 400 - 420 Degrees C. Dipping the wire end in the bath, not longer than 1 - 2 seconds, as it can cause damage to the thinner gauges. Repeat if need be.

You can use a solder iron set at around 450 Degrees C; the coating will eventually burn off, but be patient, and you will use lots of solder. Alternatively, you can scrap off the sharp blade with the thicker gauges. The remainder can be burnt off with a soldering iron or solder bath.

Please use a solder fume extraction system.

Please note we cannot guarantee the colour of the polyurethane coating of this wire as it does vary
