Volt Loudspeakers are in
We are pleased to announce that we are now the authorised stockists of Dorset-based Volt Loudspeakers.
On Monday, 9th September, we took delivery of £10K worth of drivers, hand-delivered by Cat Lyth and Steve Nichamin. For the full listing, see HERE
Volt Loudspeakers was founded in 1978 by David Lyth, who specialises in linear bass drivers. During the 1980s, they began making PA drivers, fibreglass horns and pressed steel units for the World market. Then came a line of inductors: air, E core, and ferrite core.
Gathering momentum, PMC started using Volt Loudspeakers in their BB5 Studio monitors. In 2007 they relocated to Dorset and streamline to focus on high-end audio and bespoke audio projects.
After investing in new manufacturing software and hardware and precision R&D measuring equipment, they relocated, effectively doubling their facility size.
In 2023, David's daughter Cat and partner Steve made the final payment to acquire Volt Loudspeakers.
I had the pleasure of hanging out with Cat and Steve for a few hours, giving them a tour of our warehouse, meeting the Hifi Collective team, and going out for lunch in nearby Stony Stratford. I look forward to working closely with them. I am particularly interested in coming up with a DIY project featuring their Full-Range driver, the CX2201. So watch this space.
