ETI Research Kryo XLR Male Connector

The new ETI-Research silver-plated Kryo XLR Connector is the first time ETI-Research has made this type of connector. It has taken some time for CNC machining to get to the point that the female connection can be machined to the thickness ETI-Research believes is the best for sound quality.

For some time XLR connectors with some type of Copper have been available but many of the Male Pins have to much mass which causes excessive Capacitance which alters the sound. Some of these XLR Connectors while having Copper Male connectors the Female connectors were still Brass formed! The reason why is that the hollow nature of the female pin was difficult to machine and a lot cheaper to make by using the original pins formed in Brass moulds.

ETI-Research was still not interested as this still defeated the purpose of using Copper for superior sound quality. Then the next step to getting female connectors out of Copper was by rolling flat Copper to make the Female connection. This still had problems when it came to uniformity as the surface contact area for inserting the Male was not consistent and could make the connection unstable.

ETI-Research has found that the best sounding thickness for low voltage connectors was 0.6 mm. Thicker caused influences in sound quality and too thin also caused influences in sound quality. We feel that the best connector has the least effect on sound and that is what ETI-Research works to achieve.

So we waited till we could manufacture what we felt was the best. The ETI-Research Kryo XLR has both the Male and Female Connectors CNC machine with a wall thickness of 0.6mm and is made from Tellurium Copper for durability which is important for long-term usage. We also made sure like the rest of the range that it also has applied a Cryogenically treatment to a specific audio formula.
