The FW405N has a newly developed aluminium die-cast frame based on a strength analysis using the fine-element method.
A stronger magnetic circuit using ø200mm ferrite magnet is utilised for higher input durability and larger amplitude driving.
The oval mounting hole can be adjusted between ø370 - ø375mm so, the FW405N has the compatibility with not only old Fostex 15” drivers but can also be used to replace other popular woofers.
The hybrid cone paper uses porous super damping fibre mixed with carbon fibre into tree pulp type material. This is used to achieve light weight & high stiffness in the diaphragm.
The N range has now been superceeded by the HS range.
