Oyaide P-079 Gold-plated UL plug (US Mains)

The basic material for the Oyaide P-079 is deoxidized Phosphorus Bronze, which provides strength and a secure contact.

The surface of the P-079 is thoroughly polished TWICE. Then, a super thick (1.5 micron) 24K Gold layer is plated directly onto this polished surface, and the polishing process is again applied twice. Next, the Oyaide P-079 receives the final Palladium plating (0.3 micron), and is again polished twice. The combination of these polishing processes, platings, and thicknesses of platings ultimately leads to the final sound character.

For the body of the Oyaide P-079, Oyaide has chosen high-density PBT mixed with 30% glass filler. This combination maximizes rigidity and thermal stability and provides high resonance absorption. The outer shell is Polycarbonate.

In our experience and based on customer feedback, the Oyaide P-079 male AC connector has a tonal character that is very natural-sounding to slightly warm, with a presentation that is a bit laid-back. Highs are sweet yet nicely extended. It is a great match for digital components, SS gear, or systems that would benefit from a bit more warmth without sacrificing a great deal of resolution.

Body Features

Inner Body

30% glass filled PBT has excellent machine-ability and provides superior electrical isolation. The highly rigid body of the P-037/C-037 effectively attenuates high-speed vibrations. All screws, which were originally designed for P/C series, are made of highly rigid stainless steel which is non-magnetic substance. Moreover, the cable cannot be separated from the plug by a force less than 30kg, a significant safety feature.

Stainless Screws

The screws of P/C series are all made of highly rigid stainless so its screw head doesn't collapse even if you give them too much strength. In addition, because it is non-magnetic material, it helps to achieve high S/N ratio without being magnetized at its connection part.

Outer Housing

The outer cover of P/C series is made of PC (Polycarbonate) for its rigidity and hardness. It helps to attenuate tiny vibrations in quick response and reduce distortions by its superior mechanical strength.
