Fostex FE206NV2 200mm 8 Ohm Full Range driver

The FE series of full-range speaker units, which have evolved with the times and are steeped in Fostex tradition, will be deepened into the FE-NV2 series in order to further promote environmental responsiveness in this era.

While maintaining the characteristic bright and taut tone, a three-dimensional sound field expression is realized. The powerful bass and light treble of the large aperture allow you to enjoy music reproduction with a live sound experience.

New cone paper is based on vigorously beaten kenaf fibre. Mixing long and short fibres of non-wood pulp maintains appropriate internal loss and stiffness. By mixing chemical fibre and mineral ore as a secondary material, it improves propagation speed and rigidity.

The metallic eyelets used to be added to the diaphragm result in uneven weight balance, causing unequal split resonance in addition to the annular vibration mode possessed by the cone-shaped diaphragm, which causes distortion in the midrange. By eliminating the metallic eyelets, the new FE-NV series offer reduced harmonic distortion in the midrange.

The pocket neck spider developed in the FF-WK series has been adopted to continue the three-point bonding of the voice coil and the damper and cone paper on the same circumference. The shape and material of the dampers have been reviewed for more linear amplitude characteristics than the current FE-En series.

A low-loss gold-plated terminal with Faston 205 type connector has been adopted.

Changes from the FE-NV series

  • Changed some adhesives to promote environmental responsiveness
  • Product specifications are now downloadable from our website to reduce paper resources.
  • Performance and specifications are the same as those of the FE-NV series.

Features

Cone paper made mainly from super beaten kenaf.
By mixing long and short fibers of non-wood pulp, it has moderate internal loss and rigidity, and by mixing chemical fibers and ores as sub-materials, it improves propagation speed and achieves high rigidity.

Low distortion in the midrange due to dove-less design
The FE-NV series is now pigeonholed in all bore diameters to reduce harmonic distortion in the midrange.

Pocket-neck damper
The pocket-neck damper system is used to bond the three vibration system components (voice coil, damper and cone paper) on the same circumference. The shape and material of the damper also provide highly linear amplitude characteristics.

Gold-plated terminals
Faston 205 type low-loss gold-plated terminals are used for input terminals. In addition to providing a secure joint for speaker cables, it prevents sound quality degradation.
