Cardas 1 x 21.5 AWG Shielded Coaxial Interconnect Wire

Cardas 1 x 21 AWG multistrand pure copper Litz, shielded interconnect wire. A black PTFE-sleeved inner conductor is further insulated with a fine white PTFE covering, then shielded in copper multistrand mesh with a final dark blue jacket sleeving. Each strand of the conductor and shielding is polyurethane coated. The overall diameter is 4.7mm. The diameter of the black inner conductor is 1.85mm, and the diameter of the inner copper multistrand conductor is 0.68mm. Suitable for internal screened wire and interconnect. Sold in multiples of 1 metre.

All Cardas wires are Litz conductors, whereby each strand of wire is individually enamel coated. For soldering, this enamel coating must be removed. This is best achieved using flux and a solder pot to tin the ends. Alternatively, tin your soldering iron with solder and run the wire through the solder on the iron, the coating will melt, and you can scrape it off. Litz wire reduces the impact of the skin effect and the proximity effect - great for audio.
